Ruth is a fully licensed Chartered Physiotherapist registered with the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP).
Ruth obtained an MSc in Physiotherapy from the University of Southampton, having previously qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Sciences from the University of Limerick. She spent two years studying and working in the south of England before returning home to take up a position in Killarney Physiotherapy & Sports Science Clinic. She became co-owner of this private practice in 2012 and in 2013 opened her own private practice – Kerry Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation Centre. Ruth is currently completing a Postgraduate Module in Musculoskeletal Injection Therapy.
Ruth has worked within the Kerry inter-county setup since 2011. In 2011 & 2012 she was physiotherapist to the Kerry senior football squad, from 2012 to 2015 the Kerry U21s and has won 2 in a row All Ireland Junior titles in 2016 & 2017.
Ruth has a keen interest in sport. She played soccer in her native Westmeath for many years – winning county and provincial medals up to U18 level. In recent years she has become a member of the Irish Powerlifting Federation, competing in various competitions throughout Munster and Ireland.
