Pregnancy and labour can take its toll on a woman’s body. A women’s health physiotherapist can assist a new mother with her recovery and guide her rehabilitation. Fiona can assess and help to alleviate common postnatal conditions such as pelvic girdle pain, coccyx or back pain, c-section scar pain, diastasis of the rectus abdominis (separation of the tummy muscles), painful intercourse and incontinence.
Postnatal Check Up
Sometimes women just “don’t feel right” after giving birth and an assessment by an experienced women’s health physiotherapist can identify issues that need to be addressed to guide a woman back to full recovery. A postnatal check up lasts 45 minutes and, whether you are experiencing symptoms or not, it is useful before returning to impact exercise such as running.
