Postnatal Physiotherapy

Postnatal Physiotherapy

Pregnancy and labour can take their toll on a woman’s body. A women’s health physiotherapist can assist a new mother with her recovery and guide her rehabilitation.
Fiona can assess and help to alleviate common postnatal conditions such as pelvic girdle pain, coccyx or back pain, c-section scar pain, diastasis of the rectus abdominis (separation of the tummy muscles), painful intercourse and incontinence.

Postnatal Check-Up

Sometimes women just “don’t feel right” after giving birth and an assessment by an experienced women’s health physiotherapist can identify issues that need to be addressed to guide a woman back to full recovery. A postnatal check-up lasts 45 minutes and, whether you are experiencing symptoms or not, it is useful before returning to impact exercise such as running.
